I took this photo to a critique the other day, and it is really growing on me. It isn’t that I didn’t like the photo, it just wasn’t really my favorite before. But looking at what makes the photo a little closer helped me to really like this photo.
This images was taken this summer on the University of Central Oklahoma campus. It was about 1am, and the exposure was f5.6 at 2 minutes. Curves were slightly adjusted in Photoshop CS3.
It has a painting-like quality because of the motion blur in the trees. I like that, but what I really like about the motion blur is how it draws your eye to the post in the middle, which becomes the anchor of the whole image. The circular bed beneath the tree has a way of leading your eye back up to the post as well.
It was a fun image to make, and it is slowly becoming one of my favorites.
I LOVE THIS PHOTO TOO! I knew you were talented and I’m so proud of you. I plan to continue checking out your web page to see all your new work. This is ‘DECA’ awesome!
